About Punch
Chris "Punch" Andrews started his career working at Cable 10 in Aurora as an on-air host at the age of 17.
He continued with the show through high school at St. Andrew's College... in fact the only way he was able to graduate was to allow his teachers to appear as guests on the show!
While studying radio and television at Ryerson (Toronto), he started working at a radio station in Newmarket.
When he left to take on a job as a producer at AM 640,the 4 listeners of the Newmarket station were upset! After 3 stellar months doing that, Punch went to Prince Edward Island (PEI) to take on the roll of evening announcer at All-hits CFCY.
Two years later, Punch was hired to do overnights at MIX99.9 in Toronto.
Punch kept falling asleep during those late night shifts, so management decided that it would be better to move him to the evenings (7pm-midnight).
The show grew to be #1 in Canada for its demographic and timeslot. After working freelance at a few small stations in the Toronto area, Punch remains working as a swing announcer and host of the Saturday Night Party MIX on 99.9 MIX FM in Toronto.
He can also be occasionally heard delivering traffic reports on Newstalk 1010 CFRB, 97.3 EZRock, and 99.9 MIX FM in Toronto.
Punch also teaches Communications Technology classes at Vaughan Secondary School, and is a instrumental part of the school's radio station, 90.7 RAV FM.
